Description
A device stand built from a parametric wave, so it reads as sculpture when there is nothing in it.
Most phone stands are apologetic little wedges you hide behind a monitor. This one is generated from a repeating wave, which means it has a form worth looking at whether or not a phone is sitting in it — the ridges catch light along their length and the shape changes completely depending on where you stand. The cradle is sized for a phone or a small tablet in its case.
What makes it worth it
- Parametric wave form — sculpture first, stand second
- Cradle sized for a phone or small tablet in a case
- Charging notch so the cable runs underneath
- Ridged face that grips the device without marking it
- Heavy enough that a one-handed tap does not move it
- Any colour we stock — single tones show the geometry best
Made for
- Desks, bedside tables and kitchen counters
- Video calls and propped-up viewing
- Offices that need one object with some design in it
- Gifts for people who notice how things are made
Matte finishes show the wave best. Gloss flattens the ridges into a single highlight and loses most of what makes the shape interesting.
Printed to order in Canada
Every Compl3x piece is printed and finished by hand in our own Canadian workshop after you order it, so nothing sits in a warehouse and nothing is mass-produced. Colour options and custom sizing are a conversation, not a no — just ask.
Care
Wipe clean with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and prolonged direct sunlight, which can dull the finish over time.
