Terms and Conditions

The agreement between you and Compl3x when you use this website or buy something from us.

Last updated 13 September 2026

1. Who you are dealing with

This website and the products sold through it are operated by Compl3x (“Compl3x”, “we”, “us”, “our”), a business based in Saskatchewan, Canada.

Available on request and provided with every order confirmation. Canadian consumer protection legislation requires a supplier to give its address and telephone number before a distance contract is made; if you would like ours before ordering, email us and we will send it straight back.

2. Agreeing to these terms

By using this website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Refund and Returns Policy, our Shipping Policy and our Cookie Policy. Together these form the agreement between us. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or place an order.

You must be the age of majority where you live to buy from us, or have the involvement of a parent or guardian. We sell to people in Canada and the United States.

3. What we tell you before you buy

Canadian law treats an online purchase as a distance contract (also called an internet agreement) and requires certain information to be given to you before you commit. That information is set out across this site and summarised here so it is in one place:

Who we areCompl3x, Saskatchewan, Canada. Contact details in section 1.
What you are buyingDescribed on each product page, with photographs of the actual item.
PriceShown on the product page in Canadian dollars (CAD). Sales tax is calculated and shown at checkout before you pay.
ShippingCalculated at checkout before you pay. Free on orders over $200 before tax. See our Shipping Policy.
TotalThe full amount payable, with tax and shipping included, is shown on the final checkout screen before you confirm.
DeliveryEstimated dispatch and transit times are given on the product page, at checkout and in our Shipping Policy.
PaymentThe methods offered at checkout. Payment is taken when the order is placed.
Cancelling and returningSet out in section 10 below and in our Refund and Returns Policy.
CurrencyAll prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD).

You will receive a written copy of your agreement by email when your order is confirmed. If you do not receive it, tell us and we will send it again.

4. Prices and tax

Prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD). The price shown on a product page is the price of the product itself. Sales tax (GST, HST, PST or QST depending on where you are) and shipping are calculated and shown separately at checkout, before you are asked to pay. There are no hidden fees added after that point: the total on the final checkout screen is the total you pay.

For orders shipped to the United States, import duties, taxes and brokerage may be charged by the carrier or customs on arrival. Those are set by the destination country, are not collected by us, and are the recipient’s responsibility. Orders shipped within Canada are domestic and attract no duty or brokerage.

Prices can change. The price that applies to your order is the one shown when you place it. If a price or product description is obviously wrong — a pricing error, a mis-keyed figure — we may decline or cancel the order and refund you in full. We will always tell you rather than quietly ship something else.

5. Orders and acceptance

Placing an order is an offer to buy. Our order confirmation email acknowledges that we have received it. The contract is formed when we accept your order, which we do by beginning production or dispatching it.

We may decline or cancel an order, and refund you in full, where there has been a pricing or description error, where payment cannot be taken or is reversed, where we cannot ship to your address, where we suspect fraud or a breach of these Terms, or where we genuinely cannot make the item. If we cancel after taking payment, you get all of your money back.

6. Payment and chargebacks

Payment is processed by third-party payment providers. We do not see or store your full card number. By placing an order you authorise us and our payment providers to charge the amount due.

If you think a charge is wrong, please contact us first — most problems are resolved the same day. Where you have a legal right to reverse a charge through your card issuer, nothing here affects it. Where a chargeback is raised without a valid reason after you have received your order, we may provide the payment provider with order, delivery and correspondence records, and may recover reasonable costs where the law allows.

7. Made to order, and what that means

We do not hold warehouse stock. Each piece is printed and finished after you order it, in our own studio in Canada. Three things follow from that, and we would rather say them plainly than bury them:

  • Colour is what you see in the photographs. Every product photograph shows the real object in the colour it ships in. We do not offer a colour picker. If you want a shade we do not list, message us before ordering and we will quote it as a custom run.
  • Small variation is normal. Layer lines, faint seams, minor differences in tone between batches and tolerances of roughly a millimetre are characteristics of the process, not faults. Anything outside that is a defect and we will put it right.
  • We may refine a design. We sometimes adjust a model to make it stronger or print better. Changes of that kind will not reduce what the product does or how it was described to you.

8. Using what you buy safely

Our pieces are decorative and functional homeware, desk and hobby items. Unless a product page says otherwise, they are not intended to be food-contact items, to hold hot liquid, to bear structural or safety-critical loads, to be used outdoors long-term, to be used in a vehicle, aircraft, medical or industrial setting, or to be given to children under three.

Where a product page states a load limit, a temperature limit or a mounting method, please follow it. Printed plastics soften in sustained heat — a parked car in summer will deform them — and can become brittle in deep cold. We are not responsible for damage or injury caused by use outside what the product was sold for, by modification, or by installation that ignores the guidance given. This does not limit our responsibility where a product was genuinely defective or unsafe as supplied.

9. Delivery, risk and title

Dispatch and transit estimates are estimates, not guarantees, and carriers are outside our control. We ship from Canada and the risk of loss or damage sits with us until the order is delivered to the address you gave us. Title passes to you once we have received payment in full.

If the address you provide is wrong or incomplete and the parcel is returned to us, we will reship it once you have confirmed the correct address; we may ask you to cover the additional postage. Full detail is in our Shipping Policy.

10. Cancelling, and the rights you keep

These rights exist by law and we do not ask you to give them up.

  • Late delivery. If we do not deliver your order within 30 days of the delivery date we gave you (or, if we gave none, within 30 days of the order), you may cancel and receive a full refund. Consumer protection legislation in Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, Alberta and elsewhere provides for this.
  • Missing information. If we failed to give you the information listed in section 3 before you ordered, you may cancel within the period your province allows — commonly seven days after receiving the contract, and up to a year in some circumstances.
  • Reversing a charge. Where your province gives you the right to have your card issuer reverse a charge after a valid cancellation that we have not refunded, that right stands. Quebec’s Consumer Protection Act is explicit about this.
  • Faulty, unsafe or misdescribed goods. Statutory warranties of merchantable quality, fitness for purpose and reasonable durability apply to what we sell and cannot be waived.

To cancel, email studiocompl3x@gmail.com with your order number. Refunds go back to the original payment method.

Outside those situations, because each item is made for your order, we do not accept change-of-mind returns. What we do cover — damage in transit, loss, the wrong item, and manufacturing defects — is set out in the Refund and Returns Policy, which forms part of this agreement.

11. Custom and commissioned work

For custom work we will confirm the scope, price and timeline in writing before starting. Once you approve a design or a proof and production begins, the piece is made for you alone and cannot be cancelled for change of mind. Our responsibility for defects and for work that does not match the approved specification is unaffected.

If you send us a model, drawing, logo or other material to print, you confirm you have the right to have it made. We will not reproduce material that infringes someone else’s copyright, trade mark, patent or design right, and we may decline any request at our discretion. You agree to cover us for third-party claims arising from material you asked us to reproduce, except to the extent the claim results from our own wrongdoing.

12. Our designs and this website

Our original designs, product photographs, text, branding and the arrangement of this site belong to Compl3x or our licensors. Buying a product gives you the physical object, not the design or model files. Please do not copy, scan, reproduce or commercially manufacture our designs without written permission.

Some products are made under licence from, or with the permission of, independent designers. Where that is the case the underlying rights remain with them.

If you post a review, photograph or comment, you keep ownership of it and give us permission to show it in connection with the product and our marketing. Please only post material that is yours to post.

13. Using the website

Please do not attempt to break into, overload, scrape at damaging volume, or interfere with the site or anyone else’s use of it, and do not use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend access where that happens. We keep the site available as best we can but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

14. Marketing email

We only send marketing email to people who have asked for it or who have bought from us, as Canada’s anti-spam legislation allows. Every marketing message identifies us, gives our contact details and carries an unsubscribe link that works for at least 60 days. Unsubscribing is honoured within 10 business days and never affects messages about an order you have placed.

15. Our responsibility to you

We stand behind what we make. If we get something wrong — a defect, the wrong item, damage we are responsible for, a failure to deliver — we will fix it, replace it, or refund it.

Beyond that, and only to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, or loss arising from use of a product outside what it was sold for; and where liability can lawfully be capped, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it.

What we do not limit. Nothing in this agreement excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for a defect in a product we supplied, or for anything else that consumer protection, sale of goods or civil liability legislation says cannot be excluded. If you are a consumer in Quebec, limitations that the Civil Code or the Consumer Protection Act does not permit simply do not apply to you.

16. Events outside anyone’s control

We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events genuinely beyond our reasonable control — severe weather, carrier or postal disruption, strikes, power or network failure, fire, flood, epidemic, or government action. Where such an event prevents us from fulfilling your order in a reasonable time, you may cancel it for a full refund.

17. Which law applies, and where disputes go

These Terms are governed by the laws of Saskatchewan and the laws of Canada that apply there.

This does not move you out of your home province. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the province or territory where you live, and you keep the right to bring proceedings there. A consumer resident in Quebec may bring an action in Quebec, and Quebec law applies to the extent it is more protective. We will not argue otherwise.

Before starting formal proceedings, please email us and give us a fair chance to sort it out. Most things are resolved quickly once we know about them.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as our business or the law changes. The version that applies to your purchase is the version published when you placed your order, and we keep a dated copy. Material changes will be flagged on this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated Terms for future purchases.

19. General

If any part of these Terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Our not enforcing something straight away does not mean we have given it up. You may not transfer your rights under this agreement without our consent; we may transfer ours if our business is sold, without reducing your rights.

Language. These Terms are published in English. If you would prefer a French version, email us and we will provide one. Les présentes conditions sont publiées en anglais. Sur demande, nous vous en ferons parvenir une version française.

20. Talking to us

Questions, problems or complaints all go to the same place: studiocompl3x@gmail.com. A real person reads it. If we cannot resolve something, the consumer protection office in your province can help, and privacy complaints can go to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
