Description
An elephant carrying a planting well on its back, sculpted properly rather than cartooned.
The difference between charming and tacky in an animal planter is entirely in the sculpting. This one has real weight in the legs, a correct head shape and a trunk that curves the way a trunk does, so it reads as a small sculpture that happens to hold a plant. The well is cut into the back and sized for a succulent or a small trailing plant.
What makes it worth it
- Sculpted with real anatomy — not a cartoon with a hole in it
- Planting well sized for a 2–3 inch succulent or cactus
- Four-point stance, genuinely stable on any surface
- No drainage hole, so it will not mark furniture
- Trailing plants read as a blanket over the back
- Any colour we stock — stone greys read most sculptural
Made for
- Desks, windowsills and bookshelves
- Succulents, cacti and small trailing plants
- Children’s rooms and nurseries
- Gifts for people who like animals and plants equally
A trailing plant works especially well here — the foliage falls over the flanks and the whole thing starts to look like an elephant wearing something.
Printed to order in Canada
Every Compl3x piece is printed and finished by hand in our own Canadian workshop after you order it, so nothing sits in a warehouse and nothing is mass-produced. Colour options and custom sizing are a conversation, not a no — just ask.
Care
Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Use a saucer or a plastic liner if you water directly in the pot, and keep it out of hard all-day sun, which can soften the finish over a long summer.
