Description
A bonsai planter that appears to float, held up by strands so fine you have to look twice.
The illusion comes from suspended filament — a set of very fine printed strands that read as almost invisible from a normal viewing distance, so the planting bowl seems to hover above its base. It is a difficult print and a genuinely surprising object. Put a small bonsai, a moss ball or a tiny succulent in it and the plant looks like it is levitating.
What makes it worth it
- Suspended filament strands that all but disappear at arm’s length
- Bowl sized for a small bonsai, kokedama or single succulent
- Weighted base so the whole piece is stable despite the illusion
- Best in a single colour — contrast breaks the effect
- A genuine conversation piece, not a novelty that wears off
- Printed in one piece, so there is nothing to assemble
Made for
- Desks, mantels and display shelves
- Small bonsai, moss balls and miniature succulents
- Anyone who likes an object that does not explain itself
- Gifts for people who already own everything
Keep the planting light. The illusion depends on the strands staying straight, and an overloaded bowl is the one thing that will spoil it.
Printed to order in Canada
Every Compl3x piece is printed and finished by hand in our own Canadian workshop after you order it, so nothing sits in a warehouse and nothing is mass-produced. Colour options and custom sizing are a conversation, not a no — just ask.
Care
Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Use a saucer or a plastic liner if you water directly in the pot, and keep it out of hard all-day sun, which can soften the finish over a long summer.
